![]() ![]() ![]() I would occasionally remember “Kokoro Connect” like the name of some lost friend from way back who I probably should have hung out with more. ![]() I was stuck with no real way to experience Kokoro Connect that I felt would give me the whole shebang. Is it because they also don’t finish the story but don’t even give the novels the popularity boost that an anime does? Maybe. I don’t know why, but even now I hold some bias against manga adaptations of light novels. But the point is: I knew that I would be uncomfortable watching the anime. I do not remember the details of the controversy and honestly wish to not remember them. I looked into it once a few years ago and all I remember is thinking that if I were to watch the anime I would only think about the controversy, or at the very least that there was some drama stirred up about these voices I would be hearing. I wasn’t going to watch the anime because it didn’t cover the whole story and also apparently has some kind of controversy with voice actors. ![]() In short, Kokoro Connect has been following me for six years and it was inevitable that I experience it in one way or another. It may have just been an assumption that was confirmed at some unknown point in time. For some reason, I knew it was based on a novel series. I would see the manga at Barnes & Noble and would think “yeah, I know you.” I thought about getting it but never did. The name “Kokoro Connect” stuck with me ever since I first heard it. It’s short, memorable, gets the general vibe and idea of the story across. “Kokoro Connect” always felt to me like the perfect title. I never watched it but the aesthetic of the anime stood out to me, but not nearly as much as the name. Kokoro Connect is a series I’ve been aware of since 2013, when I got into anime. ![]()
